“VERZUZ TV” began as mere entertainment for artist and their fans as a way to compete and show off their talent during quarantine - for the culture. The Verzuz Instagram live battle series was created by Musicians Swizz Beatz and Timberland. Since we’ve seen legends like Ne-Yo, Johnta Austin, T-Pain, Lil Jon, The-Dream, Young Jeezy, Gucci Mane, Kirk Franklin, Brandy, Monica and many more go hit-for- hit while getting their roses for their contributions to the culture.

After what began as fun and entertainment soon turned into some of the most anticipated instagram lives to watch. Since, Verzuz has become the perfect platform for artist reveries such as Gucci Mane and Jeezy to put their issues aside all for the culture.

Founders, Timberland and Swizz Beatz, understand the value that “Verzuz Tv” hold and thus filed a trademark application for the mark with the description reading: “Goods and Services: Entertainment services in the nature of continuing program series featuring live action, comedy and drama through cable television, broadcast, internet, video-on-demand and through other forms of transmission media…”

Since, there’s been major networks wanting to bring “Verzuz Tv” to the small screen. Timberland has declined any offers stating “Right now we just want to keep it for the culture because it’s so organic. We don’t want to bring [major networks] in right away. We just wanna keep it where people are entertained because we live in a world where 16 million people lost jobs. We don’t wanna get into all the politics of it, we wanna keep it natural.”
