Singer, actress, fashion designer, and billionaire businesswoman are just a few things that we already think of when referring to Ms. Robin Rihanna Fenty, but the new mom is now adding hair brand owner to that list of endeavors.
According to E! News, RiRi’s company, Roraj Trade, LLC, filed a trademark application with the USPTO on July 15th for “Fenty Hair.” E! states that “the hairline will include an array of products, including hair bands, barrettes, picks, bows, clips, pins, ribbons, scrunchies, nets, hair extensions, wigs and hair curlers.” Fenty Hair will now be the fourth venture under the Fenty brand, which includes Fenty Beauty, Fenty Skin, and Savage X Fenty, all of which have attributed to Rihanna being declared the youngest self-made female billionaire in the US.
Per Forbes’ 2022 list of America’s Richest Self-Made Women, Rihanna has an estimated net worth of $1.4 billion, is Barbados’ first billionaire, and the only woman under 40 on this year’s list of female billionaires in the US. Talking about Black Girl Magic!!!
In addition to the Fenty Hair trademark application, earlier this year RiRi’s team also filed for a Fenty trademark which appears to be for protection in the Metaverse. According to Fashion United, “the filing includes downloadable virtual goods for computer games featuring cosmetics and makeup for use in online virtual worlds, retail store services, online entertainment services and mobile applications, which also covers non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and digital media.” The mark was also applied to include non-downloadable virtual goods, such as digital art and photographs, and other digital tokens on blockchain technology.
With that application, Rihanna will join the likes of Snoop Dogg, Ashanti, Ye, and Kim K. amongst other celebrities gearing up to protect themselves and their brands in the virtual world.
If you love Rihanna like I do, then I know you are just as excited as we are to see what she has up her sleeves next.
