Rapper Drake in his feelings about potential lawsuit for unauthorized sample

Drake is allegedly being sued by New Orleans rapper Samuel Nicholas III, a musician who goes by Sam Skully. Sam alleges that his song “Roll Call” was improperly sampled by Drake on “In My Feelings.” Skully further accuses Drake of stealing another beat for “Nice For What,” Drake’s collaboration with Big Freedia.

The stolen beats were reportedly issued in a CD Nicholas had released in New Orleans back in 2000, long before Drakes 2018 hits.

Sam Skully is reportedly seeking damages from Drake, Big Freedia, as well as labels Asylum Records, Cash Money Records, and Republic Records. Drake has not responded to any of the allegations since it has being publicized. There’s no telling how far the lawsuit might go.
